Although we are late to adopt an iPhone strategy this has actually worked to our advantage with tools now available that will jumpstart our initiatives considerably.
The objective is simple - to create an online e-commerce iPhone application that supports the main functionalities of the Widgetti Mall e-commerce sites by utilizing the latest iPhone technology.
The Key Application Actors
Since iPhone is a personalized device for the user, the application needs to visualize this “personalized” idea. In this approach, it is fundamental to present intuitive and user friendly functionalities, interfaces and navigations.
ToolTwist Widgetti iPhone application is the key to bring the MALL at the palm of your hand. Together with the technology, the key application actors are the following:
Development
The group responsible for maintaining the overall application’s processing and functional mechanism. Their objective is to make the application operational and flexible enough to handle needs of both marketing people and customers.
Marketing
The group responsible for maintaining the overall content of the application. Their objective is to make the content customizable, dynamic, usable and marketable without or less effort of going through development group’s help.
Customers
These are the end-users, the group directly involve in using the application. Their objective is to find what they need using the application in a comfortable, adoptable, informative and friendly fashion.
Plotting Technical Ratio
The iPhone version of Widgetti Mall e-commerce sites should be close enough to replicate the functionalities offered in the real sites. The objective is to support the main functionalities.
Overlaying business against technical perspective determines the weight and framework of the application. This phase shows the details on how to transform business language into an executable plan by plotting out the technology needs of the application and its high level blue prints.
In order to figure out the overall design, the core components should be established. Figure below shows the core components of the application and their interaction with the key actors.
Items in the shaded area are the core components of the iPhone applications. All of these items will be handled by IT - Development on their entire life cycle. The application has two main clients; the marketing group and the target customers. All of the applications components should be established based on the identified needs of both clients.
